The Life and Tumbls. You'll find Rants, Links, but mostly information about me and my opinions.

Many posts are big blog post style, so a "Read More" link is used to shorten posts for feeds.

I write a lot about social/political/world issues and you may or may not agree with my opinions. I am not and do not claim to be an expert on any of the topics, and am only presenting my thoughts formed from knowledge gained through research or school. Feel free to let me know what you think, I am always open to new ideas and perspectives.

I blog a lot and sing praises of Band and SPOP quite often. And there is no doubt that these two groups have had enormous impacts on my life in recent years. But I want to take a moment to recognize some other groups, somewhat smaller in size, but no less significant to me. In their own ways each of these groups have been so good to me and I have and always will cherish them.

So here are shoutouts, in no particular order, to Whispering Wood, Prom Group, ICS, Anthology Yearbook, and of course, Meets

I posted way back that one of the things that really got me thinking about Gender and society is all gender imbalances I observed and tried to understand. Anyways, in two programs I’m going to be involved in, I see more skewed gender ratios and I seek to understand what causes them.

I made a big sacrifice today. Yearbook Banquet was scheduled at the same time as UHS annual Spring Concert. I chose to attend the Yearbook Banquet, hoping I could catch the tail end of the Spring Concert. I just got back, the Spring Concert is long over. Do I regret my decision? No. Yearbook has been a big part of my life here at UCI and I owe so much to them and I do not regret spending this night with them. However that doesn’t decrease how sad I am that I missed the Spring Concert. The people in the UHS Band mean so much to me too. I spent a lot of time with them too and they made my last few years of high school amazing. I am sad that I had to miss out on the senior’s final performance and I wish I could have attended. It’s not the same, but I will do everything in my power to attend their End of the Year Banquet. It’s not the same as appreciating and supporting their work but it’s something I can do and one way to see them again before they go on their ways across the country.
