The other day I met the third White Male in the past half year who really really understands his white and male privileges. It’s really interesting people like them, who more clearly understand on a deeper level the state of race and gender relations in the US, as well as its history. They get that racism is more deeply ingrained in our institutions than the mainstream would like to admit. They get their male privilege as well as how that intersects with race.
