Concert of my Life

The Life and Tumbls. You'll find Rants, Links, but mostly information about me and my opinions.

Many posts are big blog post style, so a "Read More" link is used to shorten posts for feeds.

Some of my posts will be emotional or controversial. Always refer to the "Read More" sentence. Thanks.

I write a lot about social/political/world issues and you may or may not agree with my opinions. I am not and do not claim to be an expert on any of the topics, and am only presenting my thoughts formed from knowledge gained through research or school. Feel free to let me know what you think, I am always open to new ideas and perspectives.

The other day I met the third White Male in the past half year who really really understands his white and male privileges. It’s really interesting people like them, who more clearly understand on a deeper level the state of race and gender relations in the US, as well as its history. They get that racism is more deeply ingrained in our institutions than the mainstream would like to admit. They get their male privilege as well as how that intersects with race. They aren’t perfect, but they seem to be showing the effort to contribute to the dialogue without dominating the space or exerting their privileges.

Anyways, I really admire people like that who by most measures of identity, power and privilege, are at the “top”, yet visibly try to check their privileges and support progressive and poc issues.
