Hi anonymous. I’m very sorry that I wasted your time with a post about Fortune Cookies. The Unfollow button is either in the top right corner, or click on the “i” by my portrait. If you do decide to keep reading my personal blog, next time, I’ll try to preface my posts with a warning “You might not agree with my opinion so don’t spend your time reading!”

You might not agree with my opinion so don’t waste your time reading!
If you decided to keep reading, to answer your question, I personally give a shit about fortune cookies and how they are one piece of a fabric of stereotypes that has been placed on and is covering me, people like me, and people who look like me. I personally have strong opinions about stereotypes, and I understand if you don’t. Many people don’t, apparently.
Still, I think stereotypes need to be broken, because I really don’t like it when people kill themselves and when stereotypes are used to demonize people who look like me, as well as demonize the people of my home country (I’m not US born). No, Fortune Cookies might not be as problematic as Super Smart Asian, Chinky Eyes, Broken English, etc, but they are, in my opinion, of the same origin as misconceptions about a group of people.
But on a lighter note, I’m just disappointed that a company missed an opportunity to showcase a part of the culture I ascribe to.
