A
big insult is to be ignored. Whether it’s real or imagined, I won’t gain anything by dwelling on thoughts of “FOREVER ALONE” or how I have no Facebook notifications. I’ll push forward and do big and do awesome and maybe some will respond and others will not but it’s OK.

Taxation and The OC [PoliticsRant]
Today I got a double dose of thought on the issue of taxation. After dinner I discussed the issue with my dad and he presented some of the viewpoints of some coworkers he talked to. Later at night I was linked to a OC Register article about how $100,000 was given to a UCI ICS department researcher to study the anthropological intricacies of the World of Warcraft not only in the US but in a...

Not Willing
I’m not willing to accept some widely held belief that “many people are just meant to pass through your life” or however else it is expressed. As long as I have this thing called “memory” I will keep stretching myself to maintain a link with everyone who has had an impact on me big or small.
I’m not willing to accept some widely held belief that “certain...

Curious
I’m curious what one feels during and after taking the life of another person. I’m curious how that person sleeps that night. I feel a wave of remorse killing a single ant. I can’t imagine what it would feel like to take a person’s life.

Reason #1
For why I love Glee:
It is the best source on TV, or most other outlets of media for that matter, for a continuous supply of optimistic, uplifting songs about life, happiness, friendship, companionship, and so much more.

Related to what I learned in Womens Studies? The Male Gaze at work? A focus on an “adolescent” female body and subsequent sexualizing of that body. Because adolescence implies and connotes weakness, powerlessness. Because a powerless body gives power to the holder of the gaze, oftentimes a male, but more frequently a gaze held by females as well. Merely conjectures.
You can go to UCLA or USC and walk in thinking you’re a legacy. Or you can...

Family (Part 2)
I’m home for winter break. I’ve been going home more or less every two to three weeks. Compared to many people I know, I’m not as excited to go home. Good beds, good food, free laundry, aren’t that great compared to limitless independence in the apartment. You’ll notice I conveniently left out the fact that I get to be with my family. Getting to that.

Money can save lives and take lives, but all the money in the world is not worth one life.
After
After a whole quarter of peace and stability, the hopeless romantic is creeping up again. I think it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep it suppressed, and hopefully this too shall pass.

Admit
I proudly claim to be a minimal racist, sexist, or most other types of discrimination. But I admit that I am an ageist. I thoroughly believe that age and the time one has to procure experiences is very important and affects the authority of that person. I believe in seniority and the relative wisdom and respect that demands. Just a thought that went through my mind as I’m studying for my...

Happy (not)
It really ticks me off when people say that they are tired of an activity that I was led to believe they really enjoyed. Especially when they say that they are happy it’s over, that they’re done with it. Especially when I participated in that activity with them and loved every moment of it.
They have every right to be tired of doing something somewhat repetitively. But it still hurts....

So I was having this conversation with a friend today. Everything was going well and then it began. That person just started being really judge mental. I did not know how to react other than being sad. I did not understand where that individual was coming from and why that person was saying that. The one thing that I do know is that I left really sad.

Thoughts on the Individual and Society
Every day I take the Camino Del Sol bus back to my apartment. Basically, this bus stops across the street from where I live, but the closest crosswalk is a good minute or two away. When people who live near me exit the shuttle, 80% on average will simply cross then and there, jaywalking. Oftentimes the bus hasn’t even left the stop, so it’s impossible to see if a car is coming...

Double Burden
Doing Womens Studies reading, learning about how in developing nations, women often suffer a double burden during hard economic times because patriarchal values demand they take care of the home and family, while economic conditions demand they also find work that pays money. On the other hand, expectations of men only demand they find work that pays money.

Conclusions
No jumping to conclusions. Not anymore. Not after what’s happened. The first got pulled away. The second showed my greed, impatience, and cowardice. The third almost broke my heart, unintentionally, so I lashed out and hurt people. The fourth showed my utter stupidity when I lashed out again, hurting people again, just because I didn’t exactly get what I wanted. Things are at best,...
